Adelboden-Lenk – Skiing in the Bernese Oberland

Sillernen-Hahnenmoss-Metch is the most spacious ski resort in the area of Adelboden-Lenk. Starting in Adelboden, gondola and chair lifts take skiers and snowboarders up to the ski runs and snow parks. At the top, 81 kilometres of pistes are available for winter tourists during the cold season. Beginners as well as professionals will find appropriate slopes on the Chuenisbärgli. Even the night is turned into day in the small ski resort. Every Friday the piste is brightly lit. The Tschenten alp is only a few minutes away from the centre of Adelboden. Therefore it does not take long to get there from your hotel in Adelboden. On the Engstligen alp there are about 14 kilometres of slope fun waiting for skiers and snowboarders.

But also lovers of a leisurely hike throughout the bitterly cold winter landscape will be in good hands on the Engstligen alp. Another resort in Adelboden Lenk is named Elsigen alp and is most suitable for downhill and cross-country skiing providing pistes of nearly 30 kilometres. The Betelberg, designated landmark mountain of the village Lenk, provides its winter tourists with about forty kilometres of slopes. Most of the slopes are on beginner level and are therefore perfect for families.

However, you are not forced to conquer the slopes only on ski or snowboard. Sledging and winter hiking is virtually possible in every ski resort of Adelboden-Lenk. You can find restaurants or snow bars for a pleasant stopover. The hotels in Adelboden and surroundings look forward to each visitor.

Summer in Adelboden and Lenk

Once the spring lets the snow smelt and the flowers slowly sprout the ski resorts of Adelboden-Lenk prove to be totally different: a snow paradise turns into a Mecca for ramblers. Carpets of flowers cover the slopes, at the mountain lakes you can simply let it hang all out. In the alpine garden Höreli next to the Tschenten alp there are about 700 different kinds of plants to see and to smell. Moreover, the Choleren gorge is worth a visit. The gorge is hundred metres long and besides several waterfalls you can also see ancient watermills. Apropos waterfalls: The Engstligen waterfalls are the second-longest in Switzerland. The water falls 600 metres down the mountain.

From the cultural point of view there is plenty of action in Lenk in summer. Every July the sound of jazz can be heard in the village. International jazz bands provide musical variety with open air concerts during the Lenk jazz days.
