Switzerland – famous Swiss sights

You’ll have some days in Switzerland? We’d like to show you some of the most famous Swiss sights on the following web pages.

Switzerland, the small country in middle of old Europe is situated between the Swiss Lake Constance and Geneva, between Swiss Alpes and Jura. Switzerland has borders on Germany, Liechtenstein, Austria, Italia and France.

Swiss capital Bern is worth a daytrip. The famous Old Town of Berne is nicely situated on a peninsula. There you can find the Swiss Parliament and the spire with its world-famous carillon.

An older Swiss sight is located in Lucerne. The Lucerne Chapel Bridge and its octagonal water tower, built in the 14th century, is one of the most famous middle ages sights of whole Europe and – not very surprising – the Chapel Bridge is the emblem of the city of Lucerne.

If you are on a roundtrip through Switzerland, you may also stop some days at Zurich. Besides the wonderful lakeside atmosphere there are two famous churches which guard the river Limmat on both sides of Zurich. You should take yourself some minutes and enter one or better both of the churches called church Fraumunster and church Grossmunster, St. Peter. St. Peter has a clock face with a diameter of 8.7 m – one of Europe’s biggest church clocks.

But besides the interesting Swiss cities it is the fantastic Swiss nature which is a sight for itself. For example Aletsch Glacier – its ice stream has a length of about 23 km. If you are interested in this breathtaking sight you can make a walking-tour along the Glacier.

Another interesting place is Brienz with one of the most beautiful waterfall in Switzerland which is called Giessbachfälle. The water precipitates about 400 m. Another well-known waterfall is the “Staubbachfall“ in Lauterbrunnen which was visited by the well known German writer Johann Wolfgang Goethe in 1779.

If you love labyrinths you absolutely should visit Evionnaz. The labyrinth is situated in a nature park and it is the largest nature labyrinth in the world. Besides you can visit hot springs in Baden with the most minerals in them in the whole Swiss. If you are interested in a theme park you can visit Morschach with the Swiss Holiday Park which leaves nothing to be desired.
